This is not the last workshop

Finally I have decided not to attend Mr. Frank Hilario's workshop for blogger:

Only last night that I was convinced that this event is not for me at least for the moment. For some valid reasons; as I tried to swipe for plane ticket bookings the internet was not very cooperative: it says always "server not found" and to think I made it a point to book online when hours were no longer busy like 3:20AM and late last night at 10:44PM. Although plane tickets have gone higher than the normal figures which appeared in the web.  I kept browsing what airport is the cheapest (because I live in Surigao and by June 17 I would be in Butuan but these two are very expensive and only Cagayan de Oro city has the cheapest so far.) And aside from that I was thinking to volunteer on the said event as Jomar was looking for some volunteers and I could have the registration fee for free. But as I was trying to swipe again and again still the reply is "server not found".  Then I said to myself: "Ok this is not for me at least for now. Anyway this is just the first workshop and it's not the last either."


The other reason is that when I update my spread sheet of expenses as today is pay day, I laugh at myself because I would be broke before the next pay day or the next cash advance (for official travel). (Send money home for Mama, Insurance and textbooks for a niece and some other expenses personal and official.).  


So, okay, I would miss the workshop this weekend but I am pretty sure that it's not the last!

Creative Writing for Blogger's Workshop

There will be a blogger's workshop to be held in Taguig City, Philippines on June 18, 2011.

It would be the first workshoop so far. And here I am dying to attend this workshop. I am just wondering what is instored for me with this path I am threading. As I am sitting here in this hotel lobby I am still not booking online for the said event nor booking for my plane tickets. For the past days even over the weekend I was thinking of it.  Whether to attend or not.  Because I am really thinking of the budget. If I swipe for the registration and my plane tickets to attend this event my credit card billing statement would reach a hundred thousand Philippine peso, combining two  HSBC credit cards actually.  I am considering the amount because I can only pay a little above minimum at this time. As to why I reached this credit card bill is another story. I am praying hard if going to this event is for me. I know deep in my heart that I can learn many things from this workshop.

HP Touchpad

I'm in the office busy correcting my piece for tonight's presentation in a power point.  And in between these times I am glancing at HP Touchpad featured in Wikipedia. So cool. Right now I am using a Lenovo notebook with Mickey Mouse design which my office provided. Still cool.  But I could not help peeping at this HP Touchpad. This thing will be available in the US market this coming June 2011, that's next month! Somebody, please give me one! 16GB or 32GB. 
                                                           

Downloading and waiting

This might be one of the slower times, I mean the internet. I am downloading some documents but it's been 20 minutes but I have to wait.  I still have plenty of docs and reports to download but I am doing it one at a time or else I could not have one.  And while waiting for the download docs I have to maximize my time by doing my blogs.  My boss may kill me now. Doing unofficial in the internet or facing facebook is illegal for us during office hours but sometimes we discuss our office concerns among office mates on facebook beyond office hours. Ok my boss won't kill me now. Just kidding. My third boss but the best so far. I have two past jobs. The first one was a lady boss and the second one was a Japanese.  Both were good. And those times with them we didn't have  internet, not much cellphones at that time. Now we have this internet connections, most employees have more than one mobile phones.  We simply live in this DOT COM era. We have to embrace it.

Connected but no access

My laptop says that I am connected but when I tried Mozilla Fox I just couldn't access to the WiFi facility of Lolita's Loft. I said to myself "oh, I must be somewhere lost around the corner." But good thing our IT was not sleeping yet, we have to befriend with the front desk clerk so he can do something for us, not just me so we can access to the internet. At first we thought it must have been the service provider but later when our IT started his hands on the server and on the router and on the ports we were relieved.

Online mentoring

While being fed with Bo's articles know and then and while being inspired with God's words through him, like: "Gert, God whispers today"  signing up with  www.TrulyRichClub.com has inspired me to do some site seeing on issues that are related to Bo's mentioning about passive income (soft and hard copies) . At first I surfed this site because I want to develop myself mentally and spiritual, and the name  Jomar Hilario was mentioned I became curious so I visited Jomar's site :

Then one click lead to another.  I enrolled in Jomar's online mentoring.  As Jomar's promptings came rushing every time I open my emails all the more I became serious on doing the blog thing.

Why blogging came into my mind

Years ago I have no idea what is blogging all about, nor did I hear such word.  I have an email ad for over six years now but every time I visit internet cafe then all I did was to check mails or go to few topic or site that interest me most. And those internet cafe visitations were not frequent either.  I rarely peep into the virtual world. Infact I just have my Facebook account last year. I do not have Twitter yet and then I lost my Friendster account along the way. Two years ago I came across Bo Sanchez' Kerygma Family online. I have been Bo's fan ever since I joined SFC years ago. Then last year I signed up to help Mr. Sanchez' works for the poor.  Then from then on he sent me regularly other things worth reading until I came to visit one of his sites:  www.TrulyRichClub.com.

So much to learn

It may be easy to just "google" anything that pops up on your mind or anything under the sun but still there are more and more things are yet to learn. Everything may seem easy these days, with the era of internet and hard copies of Websters and Thesaurus have transformed into soft still many things are yet to learn.  Words such as syndication, feedburner, kindle, virtual assistants, webinar, bookmarker, and so on and so forth.

As of this time I am still learning and eager to learn from other sites such as the link above. How did I find them? Them because this site is where you can come across with Jack Humphrey and Jim Stroud.  How did I find them? This phrase came into my mind "how to use feed" and I just "googled" it.

Thinking for new posts.

I was thinking again on what new posts to write. While finish praying I was thinking on what to write. While still lying  in bed my mind started to wander on things to write for today. While making my way to the bath room my mind was busy selecting a topic and other times confused. I was contemplating on writing my way of life or my eating habit or my health. Or I would write about beauty products. Many things came to my mind. Beyond confusion and doubt I know there are many things worth writing.

Blogging my own way

One writer says that one thing to keep up your brain working is do some blogs. I thought blogging is that complicated. Now I have this blog and I can write whatever comes to my mind. Blogging in between, while waiting for downloads to be done, posting while waiting for some emails, while waiting for some reports. It's fun.

I tried blogging on my first few days

I tried blogging on my first few days with Jomar's online class but as I tried hitting the button I got scared. I just don't know anything.  Then my mentor told me "why am I afraid it's just a computer..."  But that didn't sink yet.  I have to read and reread pieces of advices from mentors. I reread one of Jomar's email about "how to start a blog explained in plain English" by a website, and then another simple instruction from another site.

Things I did before I start blogging

Things I did before I decided to blog I researched some terms not familiar to me or they maybe familiar but I have no idea what are those. I searched for the word: webinar which I first heard from Bo Sanchez, then the word blog and other terms such as syndication, feedburner, RSS, apps and other terms.  Years ago I met a guy on the boat during one of my travels and he was talking about pay per click, that this is a money earning thing. So I figured out the term itself: "pay per click".  Being a die hard employee I never gave that conversation much attention.  Then news reverberates how Manny Pacquiao earned each game on pay per view. So there must be money on the "click" things. But still I am a die hard employee even until this writing.

I subscribed to Bo's Kerygma last year simply to help his work for the poor.  But as Bo kept preaching on the internet, talking about passive income and talking about Jomar Hilario, then Jomar mentioned about Stephen Pierce,  I decided to enroll online in Mr. Hilario's online mentoring.  After one month of marinating myself on how to start blogging finally I have started.

I give credit to Jomar Hilario and Stephen Pierce .  Every morning when I open my mails these names are on queue. As well as Bo Sanchez'.  Every morning, every afternoon, and even night time.

My first blog

Obviously I do not know what to blog.  I stared blankly at the instructions and don't even know what to write about.  But I am starting it right now. I couldn't be sure what title fits but I guess this is it!
